About Our History
Since 1993, we have successfully worked to help change the economic plight of low-income residents by empowering them with skills to become self-sufficient, productive members of society. We provide low- or no-cost training programs to traditionally under-served populations, enabling them to acquire skilled jobs in the public and private sectors.
Our founder, Mr. Anthony Chuukwu, recognized that limited or no access to technology and pre-vocational training can curtail employment opportunities for low-income, indigenous, and immigrant populations. For over 18 years, CVC served over 5,000 DC adults, youth, and children and provided computer technology, health, and basic educational-related services to everyone in need. Our year-round innovative daytime and after-school / after-work programs help these populations meet the ever-increasing need for workers to be equipped with appropriate skills for our technology-dependent workplace and classrooms. Our programs are managed by highly capable and qualified professional staff both full and part-time employees, and we tap into the community for experienced and committed volunteers to help in attaining our vision.
CVC offers small class sizes which provide an ideal setting for quality instruction and personal attention that leads to academic success. At CVC, the classroom and clinical settings are highly collaborative; each student has an opportunity to know their instructors and classmates by name. Our aim is about making your learning experience a productive and successful one.
Our mission is to deliver the highest-quality computer technology and pre-vocational training to District of Columbia residents leading to industry recognized certification. We provide its students with effective and affordable training in friendly state-of-the-art training facilities with dedicated and professional staff and faculty committed to providing a learning environment conducive to productivity.
The goal of CVC is to obtain an annual graduation rate of at least:
85% in Computer Technology
85% in GED/ABE and ESL
75-80% Employment placement rate
We are Committed To:
- Receiving grant funding that will enable us provide scholarships to low-income individuals
- Establishing partnerships in the community through collaborations and outreach with the goal of providing wrap around services to our constituents
- When necessary, assisting clients to obtain student loans through partnerships with financial institutions that enable them attain college degrees in institutions of higher learning
- Providing effective internship program and job placement services to our graduates
