The Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide mission is to prepare individuals on how to provide high quality care to residents in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, in their homes and in hospitals, while at the same time ensuring: communication, dignity, safety, privacy, and independence for all under their care.

Curriculum
CitiWide will provide 120+ hours of training for each nurse aide trainee before certification.The curriculum shall comprise of forty-five (45) hours of classroom instruction, thirty (30) hours of clinical laboratory practicums, and forty-five (45) hours of nursing home practicums.
*Sixteen (16) of the classroom instruction hours, called the Pre-resident Contact component, is required before there is any contact with a resident.

Curriculum
Students will need to complete a minimum 75-hour DC approved nurse aide training program. The training programs vary in length but the minimum number of training hours is 75. The 75-hour training includes 51 keys tasks that a nurse aide needs to be trained in with at least 16 hours devoted to supervised, practical training. The student must complete at least 16 hours of classroom training before beginning the supervised practical training.
"Supervised practical training” means training in a laboratory or other setting in which the trainee demonstrates knowledge while performing tasks on an individual under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
